Grilled Brats Recipe

July 26th, 2010

Last evening we enjoyed a great dinner of grilled brats off the BBQ26S Meadow Creek Grill and our special topping of cooked peppers and onions. I like it so well, I just have to share it with you. So here are some pictures to start it off. The recipe is below.

Click on a photo to enlarge it.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups sliced peppers
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • Favorite barbecue rub
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 10 brats

Lay the brats on your grill grate and season them with your favorite rub. Grill the brats over direct heat until they are well browned on two sides.

Once the brats are cooking on the grill, put a skillet on the stovetop or an outdoor burner, such as your grill side burner. Brown the butter in the skillet, then add the peppers and onions. Stir these often to keep them from burning. After it cooks down add a liberal sprinkling of rub and the barbecue sauce. Mix it well.

Serve the grilled brats on hotdog buns or homemade bread with the topping and sliced cheese. You may also enjoy ketchup, mustard, and other condiments with your sandwiches.

Extremely easy and edible!

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Enjoy!

Marlin Grills Chicken

May 31st, 2010

Today is a day off for Marlin, so he fired up his Meadow Creek BBQ26S Chicken Cooker and cooked some skinless, boneless chicken breasts. He marinated them in our chicken marinade recipe overnight and spiced ’em up with a little Weber Kick’n Chicken seasoning. They were certainly outstanding and extremely delicious.

Enjoy the slideshow!

Smoked Chicken Breasts on Sunday Afternoon

May 4th, 2010

Last week I found some split chicken breasts at the grocery store for 99 cents / lb. I thought that was a pretty good price so I got three packs to smoke in my Meadow Creek SQ36 Smoker. Sunday afternoon I fired up the smoker and smoked my chicken on the back porch. It was fun sitting on my beach chair and watch the rain.

I didn’t get any pics of the chicken on the smoker; we had company over and I took it off in a hurry.

What have you been cooking this Spring? I would love to see your photos! You can post them to my wall on my Facebook page here after you “Like” my page. Or just leave a text comment on this post.

Keep on cooking!

Cooking on Meadow Creek Cookers for Open House

May 3rd, 2010

Here are a few pictures of the barbecue we cooked at Cold Springs Garden Center Open House. We fired up the Meadow Creek PR60T Pig Roaster with a grill pan and gave away hundreds of burgers and hotdogs. Also smoked some chicken breasts on the TS60 Barbecue Smoker and grilled some chicken wings on the BBQ26S Chicken Cooker. We had a great fun time.

Free Barbecue in Pikeville, TN

April 22nd, 2010

Cold Springs Garden Center, a parent company of Yoder’s Smoky Mountain Barbecue, is celebrating their expansion with an Open House April 23-24 (Friday and Saturday). Gardeners and flower enthusiasts from the community are already busy exploring the 16,000+ square feet of greenhouse area and hauling out plants by the carloads.

Marlin plans to grill burgers and hotdogs on a Meadow Creek PR60 Pig Cooker both Friday and Saturday on Meadow Creek barbecue equipment. He’ll also be giving away some delicious chicken wing samples cooked on a Meadow Creek BBQ26S Chicken Cooker. And if you happen to be here at the right time, you can sample some smoked chicken hot off the Meadow Creek TS60 Smoker.

So here’s your chance to take a little drive and see our inventory for yourself and watch us using it.

Hope to see you here.  🙂
